CARDIOLOGY – UPDATES FOR THE INTEGRATIVE PRACTITIONER
All of us in practice have a good base to understand our cardio patients care, but can always update and take our clinical interventions to the next level.
SPECIFIC AREAS TO BE COVERED:
We start with HOW THE SYSTEM FAILS (how the heart becomes dysfunctional), UNDERSTANDING DRUGS USED and important detail on “GENDER DIFFERENCES in cardiovascular disease”.
Then they will offer FOUR specific sections including case studies, updating non-drug options in HYPERTENSION, HYPERLIPIDEMIA, HEART FAILURE, and DYSRHYTHMIAS.
Interventions including diet, nutrient, lifestyle and botanical approaches will be highlighted.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: What you need to know to implement everything in your office.
In this one-day online webinar, three experienced physicians will share their insights into this therapy.
Five Expert Speakers
Dr. Paul Anderson, N.M.D.
Dr. Paul Anderson is a recognized educator and clinician in integrative and naturopathic medicine with a focus on complex infectious, chronic, and oncologic illness. In addition to three decades clinical experience, he also was head of the interventional arm of a US-NIH funded human research trial using IV and integrative therapies in cancer patients. He founded Advanced Medical Therapies in Seattle, Washington, a clinic focusing on cancer and chronic diseases and now focuses his time in collaboration with clinics and hospitals in the US and other countries.
Former positions include multiple medical school posts, Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Medicine at Bastyr University and Chief of IV Services for Bastyr Oncology Research Center. He is co-author of the Hay House book “Outside the Box Cancer Therapies” with Dr. Mark Stengler as well as a co-author with Jack Canfield in the anthology “Success Breakthroughs” and the Lioncrest Publishing book “Cancer… The Journey from Diagnosis to Empowerment.”.
He is a frequent CME speaker and writer and has extended his educational outreach creating an online CE website “ConsultDrA.com” and Advanced Applications in Medical Practice (AAMP) conferences. AAMP is dedicated to bringing next level learning to healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills in a CME approved format.
Stephen Parcell N.D.
After receiving his Doctor of naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2002 Dr. Steve Parcell founded NatureMed Integrative Medicine in 2005. After completing a 2-year self-designed residency with a medical doctor in 2004 Dr. Parcell practiced general naturopathic medicine initially. He then moved into men’s health and cardiovascular medicine about 15 years ago. He gained a passion for all things cardiovascular when he learned that it was possible to reverse arterial disease. He became fascinated with objective data such as lipoprotein subclasses, arterial inflammation markers, echocardiograms, carotid ultrasounds, and calcium scoring to assess and stratify risk in his patients. Always an advocate for the importance of exercise he has become more convinced than ever about the role of diet plays in the initiation and progression of arterial disease. He is adamant that naturopathic doctors are in the best possible position for primary prevention and follow through. He believes positive patient outcomes are the ultimate goal regardless of treatment approach and that sometimes an integrated team approach is the way to achieve that.
